We are about to enter this most precious time of the year, where Lent comes to its culmination in Palm Sunday and Holy Week, when our sombre reflection and fast is intensified - and then gives way to the joyous celebration of Easter! So, how are we to observe such an important highlight of our Christian calender, while we are asked to stay at home and not able to meet physically as a congregation?
We have got a couple of suggestions - fully aware that they may not be entirely satisfactory. How could they possibly be? After all, community is at the heart of what it means to be "the church", so anything less than actually, physically meeting, will be less...
Having said that, here is what we would like to suggest (and this is for grown-ups now; some suggestions for families with kids can be found here):
Saturday, 4th April: We had planned a quiet day - but that, of course, was canceled. Find out, what you could do instead on this page.
Palm Sunday, 5th April: A service for the whole convocation at 11am has been announced. We encourage you to be part of this. For details, please follow this link. The Service Sheet can be downloaded as a pdf-file from here.
Monday in Holy Week (6th April) & Tuesday in Holy Week (7th April) & Wednesday in Holy Week (8th April): The prayer via zoom at 12 noon will be continued, with appropriate themes.
Maundy Thursday (9th Apr): Stay at home, cook something nice! Make it special! If you wish, you could think of this as an "Agape meal". Here are some suggestions how this could be done.
