"Anglican at home"?

So why "Anglican"?

"But we are the Episcopal Church!", I suppose, some will object, "Not the Anglican one."
True. But look at it like this: like many words, "Anglican" has got multiple layers of meaning.
So, "Anglican" etymologocally means "English" - but only a small minority of our congregation is English.
Then, historically, it could refere to the Church of England - of which we are independent.
But then it could also indicate a denominational trajectory: using the Book of Common Prayer, being part of the Anglican Communion, subscribing to Anglican theology, ecclesiology.
And, in that sense, Episcopalians are clearly Anglican!

And why "at home"?

Well, at first it was just a little pun with the domain-name "anglican.at". There are many things you can do, when you are @HOME - but "being Anglican? No, not really, that's what you do, when you go to church. Or so we thought, until the COVID 19 crisis came along and destroyed our routines. For now, we cannot go to church - so we are church at home! Busy trying to find out, how that works.
